Sorprendidos por la labor de Mick Jagger y su armónica , decidimos consultar , a un especialista de la materia , el desarrollo del cantante y su instrumento , en el nuevo álbum : "Blue & Lonesome"

Hola a todos los lectores de "Stones Please Don't Stop". Queria dejarles una sencilla reseña , sobre el nuevo Lp de Los Rolling Stones: "Blue and Lonesome"
Que puedo decir , sobre este disco de 12 covers de blues , que ya no se haya dicho?
En verdad muy poco, pero además de darles una humilde opinión, me voy a volcar puntualmente al trabajo de Jagger, tanto en la voz, como en las armónicas, desde mi punto de vista de armoniquista y cantante.
Ya todos , o la mayoría de nosotros sabemos , que el disco contiene 12 temas , de los maestros del blues, pero con canciones no tan conocidas por la mayoria de nosotros.
Ha sido grabado en 3 dias, casi sin overdubs, y 100% en forma analógica. Sin duda alguna podemos decir, que el motor del disco, es jagger con su voz y su armónica.
En mi caso puntual, me sorprendió que hayan grabado, un disco de estas características, ya que no tiene antecedente alguno, (lo más cercano fue el disco de Jagger, con la banda americana The Red Devils, allá por 1992), donde grabaron un disco de blues, juntos pero no es Mick , el que ejecuta las armonicas en dicho disco.
Volvamos a Blue and Lonesome , y el trabajo de Armónicas de Jagger. Hace ya un tiempo que Mick, esta usando Armonicas Lee Oskar, una de las mejores marcas del mercado.
Comenzando el analisis , con la primera canción del disco:
"Just your fool" tema de Buddy Johnson de 1953, y grabado por Walter Jacobs (Little Walter) en 1960 , lanzada como single en 1962. La canción esta en "La", y la armónica de Mick , esta ejecutada muy fiel a la version de Little Walter, como corresponde. Mick no suele usar, algun microfono especial , o equipamiento para grabar armonicas, al menos que yo tenga conocimiento.
"Commit a Crime" Canción grabada por Howlin' Wolf, en 1966, e incluida en el disco de Howlin' Wolf "London Sessions" de 1971. La canción está en "Mi", y Jagger se luce con la armónica y la voz, bien al estilo de Wolf.
"Blue and Lonesome" (esta canción esta en "Sol") del cantante y armoniquista Little Walter Jacobs, de 1959. Me saco el sombrero, ante las armonicas y voces de Jagger, muy Little Walter, en su máxima expresion.
"All your love" de Otis Rush, grabada en 1958. ( esta canción esta en "La") Me encanta como canta Jagger este tema, de manera bien cruda y desgarradora. Arreglos sencillos y cortitos con la armónica , pero con mucha clase.
"I gotta go" (esta canción esta en "La") de Little Walter, otra vez Jagger , nos demuestra quien es su maestro en la armónica , (sin olvidarnos que Brian Jones, fue en realidad su verdadero maestro) interpretando excelentemente este tema . En mi opinion, me quedo con los arreglos, que les hizo Jagger , que los de Little Walter en la versión original.
"Everybody Knows About My Good thing" (esta canción esta en "Sol") de Little Johnny Taylor, compuesta por Miles Grayson y Lemont Horton. En esta canción no tenemos a Mick en armónicas , pero lo tenemos a Eric Clapton de invitado , con su inconfundible sonido. Uno de los mejores temas del disco junto con "Ride 'Em On Down" y I can't Quit You Baby"
Ride 'Em On Down" (esta canción esta en "Si") canción original de 1937 , grabada por Bukka White. La versión hecha por The Rolling Stones , es la de Eddie Taylor del año 1955. Me encanta la fuerza , que le dieron los Stones a esta canción, ya que la version de 1955 de Taylor, me remite mucho a los blues de Jimmy Reed. The Rolling Stones le dieron una vuelta de rosca, con una version mas "up tempo", mas desenfrenada , y con algo de boogie tambien. Otra vez me tengo que sacar el sombrero, ante las armonicas de Mick. Si bien nunca fue un virtuoso de este instrumento, me encanta su versatilidad, cosa que no abunda mucho.
"Hate to See You Go" (esta canción esta en "Sol") de Little Walter. Otra vez más Jagger nos demuestra, que puede interpretar a Walter, como pocos. Tanto la voz , como las armonicas, remiten a Little Walter en un 110%.
"Hoodoo Blues" de Lightin' Slim (esta canción esta en "Re") tema oscuro de Slim, con unas armonicas bien "fat" de Mick , y ajustadas a la versión original. Excelente versión
"Little Rain" : Canción de Jimmy Reed , que solian zapar Brian y Keith juntos. Incluso Keith comentó que no la tocaba, desde esas epocas. Me sorprendió la calidad con la que Mick, interpreta el clasico sonido de Jimmy Reed con la armonica, cosa que no es fácil de lograr.
"Just Like I Treat You": (esta canción esta en "Sol" ) tema de Willie Dixon , popularizado por Howlin' Wolf.
Muy bien lograda version al mejor estilo Howlin' Wolf. Arreglos de armónicas simples pero efectivos.
Y nos despedimos , con unos de los mejores temas del disco. Con el clasico "I Can't Quit You Baby" (esta canción esta en "La") Compuesta por Willie Dixon, e interpretada por Otis Rush.
Segundo tema, con Eric Clapton como invitado, el cual nos deleita con dos terribles solos, y su inconfundible sonido. Jagger ejecutó una pequeña outro al final del tema, valga la redundancia.

Casino boogie es un cuidado tributo a la mejor banda de rock de todos los tiempos, hecho con mucha pasión y dedicación por amigos con distintas influencias musicales, pero con el mismo amor en común por los Rolling Stones, por el Blues, el Rhythm & Blues y por el Rock'n'Roll.
Utilizamos las mismas afinaciones que las canciones originales (por ejemplo muchos temas de los Rolling Stones fueron compuestos con guitarras en afinación five string open tuning: afinación abierta con 5 cuerdas) y al interpretarlos de esta forma, se logra el verdadero sonido de las canciones originales.
Nuestro inglés en las canciones es nativo. No cantamos por fonética.
Contamos con un set de temas que se va rotando en todos nuestros conciertos y abarcamos la gran mayoría de la trayectoria de los Rolling Stones. Tenemos el honor de contar con un padrino de lujo, Adam Cooper, hijo Michael Cooper, legendario fotógrafo de los 60's, de los Rolling Stones y de The Beatles.

Surprised by the work of Mick Jagger and his harmonica, we decided to consult, to a specialist of the matter, the development of the singer and his instrument, in the new album: "Blue & Lonesome"

Hello to all "Stones Please Don´t Stop readers. "I wanted to leave a simple review, about the new Lp of the Rolling Stones" Blue and Lonesome "
What can I say, on this album of 12 covers of blues, that has not already been said?
In truth, very little, but in addition to giving them a humble opinion, I will punctually turn to the work of Jagger, both in the voice, as in harmonics, from my point of view as harmonigist and singer.
Already, or most of us know, that the disc contains 12 songs, from the masters of the blues, but with songs not so well known by most of us.
It has been recorded in 3 days, almost without overdubs, and 100% in analog form. Undoubtedly we can say, that the engine of the disc, is jagger with his voice and his harmonica.
In my specific case, I was surprised that they recorded, an album of these characteristics, since it has no antecedent whatsoever (the closest was Jagger's album, with the American band The Red Devils, back in 1992), where they recorded a Disc of blues, together but it is not Mick, that executes the harmonicas in said disc.
Let's go back to Blue and Lonesome, and Jagger's Harmonicas work. It has been a while since Mick, is using Armonicas Lee Oskar, one of the best brands in the market.
Beginning the analysis, with the first song of the disc:
"Just Your Fool" song by Buddy Johnson in 1953, and recorded by Walter Jacobs (Little Walter) in 1960, released as a single in 1962. The song is in "A", and Mick's harmonica is performed very faithfully Little Walter version, as appropriate. Mick does not usually use a special microphone, or equipment to record harmonicas, unless I have knowledge.
"Commit a Crime" A song recorded by Howlin 'Wolf in 1966 and included on Howlin' Wolf's "London Sessions" album in 1971. The song is in "E" and Jagger is dressed in harmonica and voice, Well in the style of Wolf.
"Blue and Lonesome" (This song is in "G") by Little Walter Jacobs singer and harmonica THE 1959. I take off my hat, in front of the harmonies and voices of Jagger, very Little Walter, in his utmost expression.
"All your love" by Otis Rush, recorded in 1958. (This song is in "A") I love how Jagger sings this song, so raw and heartbreaking. Simple and short arrangements with the harmonica, but with a lot of class.
"I gotta go" (This song is in "A") in Little Walter, again Jagger, shows us who his teacher is in the harmonica, (not forgetting that Brian Jones was really his real master) interpreting this subject excellently . In my opinion, I keep the arrangements, which made them Jagger, than those of Little Walter in the original version.

Ride 'Em On Down' ( (This song is in "B") original song of 1937, recorded by Bukka White. The version made by The Rolling Stones is that of Eddie Taylor of 1955. I love the strength, The Stones to this song, since the 1955 version of Taylor, refers me a lot to the blues of Jimmy Reed. The Rolling Stones gave a thread, with a version more "up tempo", more rampant, and with something Boogie too.I have to take off my hat again, before Mick harmonicas.I was never a virtuoso of this instrument, I love his versatility, which is not very abundant.

Second theme, with Eric Clapton as guest, which delights us with two terrible solos, and its unmistakable sound. Jagger ran a small other at the end of the subject, worth the redundancy.
